316 Rotary Red Tool Joint Compound is formulated to achieve maximum anti-galling performance with minimum compounds of metals. Its performance is enhanced by careful selection of certain non-metallic anti-galling materials and special thread wetting agents. Although most manufactures recommend continued use of high metallic content lubricants throughout the life of the threads, it is well known that more economical materials are satisfactory in many applications. Careful operators utilize 316 Rotary Red on well broken-in tool joints at shallow to medium depths.
